There is no need to elaborate on this post because you probably already have seen it in your dashboard, however am still gonna say it out LOUD! The release of WordPress 3.0 codenamed “Thelonius” is here and available for download now. After six long months of development from approximately 218 different contributors, the WordPress 3.0 Platform is said to be much faster, stabler and more secure.
The WordPress 3.0 comes with some awesome Twenty Ten theme, over 1,200 bug fixes, custom post types, MU merge and a menu editor.
The Thelonius also features a lighter interface, more contextual help options, a boatload of bug fixes, bulk updates and much more.
According to Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress stated that they won’t be starting the development of the WordPress 3.1 as yet, the staff of WordPress/Automattic will be taking some time to focus on things other than the core product. I have already upgraded most of my blog to WordPress 3.0, unfortunately I have yet to discover all the fun new stuff they have added. It is said that MU and WordPress have finally merged, so now developers, we can run one or multiple blogs from the same installation. I anticipated that function, as soon as i find the time I will check it out. What do you think about the new WordPress 3.0?
