It’s been over six months now since you started Blogging and so far you are only making a few cents per month, and according to the article or post that made you consider blogging, it was saying you could be making over a $1000 dollars per month by now right? Well its true but the thing is that don’t expect that you are just gonna add new blog entries each day and people is gonna magically appear on your blog. Here is an important tip too, if you started blogging for the money that comes with it you won’t make it. Its not a get rich scheme it takes work and dedication.
Whether you are blogging about a topic that you have a wide knowledge on or trying to sell a product, there is no way users are just gonna find your website or blog just like that. Starting a new Blog is just as if you have just open a store on a street that has little or no pedestrians so no one really knows that your store is there, so you will have to go on the main street and put up flyers and signs that your store is located at that certain spot. Same thing applies to your blog. You have optimized your blog for the search engines but still no traffic right. The thing is that Google and other search engines will not rank your blog by your content alone. If you want to know some of the details they look for before they rank your blog you can look at our previous post about search engines.
Don’t Depend on Search Engines Alone
We all know by now that when you have a good ranking and a few more things well set for your blog, the search engines will send you a lot of visitors. But here are a few little tricks that I used before I got traffic from Search Engines.
Commenting on Blogs in my Marketing Niche
You know most blog have the option for users to leave comments on each post. Use this to your advantage by making comments on blog that has the same content type as your blog. When you are making a comment contribute something good.
Don’t just write “Good Post” or “Great Article” and other stupid stuff like that. If you come on any of my blog and leave something like that I will delete it for real. Leave a comment that is talking about the article/post and makes sense too. Remember to put in your blog URL in the Website field. Once your comments is submitted users who are interested in the topic you blog about will or sometime click on your comment which takes them directly to your blog.
TrackBack Url
When you re-write a post from a blog, give the blog that you are getting it from the props by adding a link at the end of your post or anywhere in between.
You might be saying that you are linking to a site that has more traffic than yours or your are sending away your few readers but that is not so. If you are using wordpress to blog right at the bottom of your writing panel / window you will see a field “Send trackbacks” add the url that you get the article from in that field and if the blog uses trackbacks a link to your blog will appear on that blog. You will certainly score a few new readers from that.
