The Expendables is another movie about heros saving the day, the movie was directed by Silvester Stalone and he also appears in the movie as one of the main characters as well. The All-Star line up includes stars such as Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and one of my favorite actor, Terry Crews.
They are the Expendables, a group of mercenaries for hire, Silvester plays the role of character Barney Ross the team leader, Jason Statham plays the role of Lee Christmas who is a SAS solider, blades specialist and the lover in the group, Jet Li plays Yin Lang a martial artist who has a problem with his height, Dolph Lundgren plays Gunnar Jensen a sniper, Terry Crews plays Hale Caesar who is a gun fanatic and Randy Couture plays the character Toll Road a demolitions expert.
All I can say is that this movie kicks ass, non-stop action and excitement galore. They are hired by a guy (Mr. Church) from the CIA, who is played by Bruce Willis. Church offers offers a job to go to a island called Vilena (an island made up for the movie) which is located in the Gulf of Mexico. Their mission is to get rid of General Garza (David Zayas), a brutal dictator who had overthrown the previous government of Vilena.
First Christmas and Ross goes in to scout the Island and meet with their contact Sandra, who is later revealed to be General Garza’s daughter. Sandra takes them to an area for them to scout the General’s Castle, while scouting they are intercepted by a truck full of General Garza’s Soldiers, who are all killed by Ross and Christmas. Afterwards they make a hastily escape from the island in the nearby airplane. Sandra decides to stay behind and is later captured by James Monroe, a corrupted ex-CIA agent who backs Garza’s operations.
Explaining this the shortest way possible, they all go back to Vilena kicks asses and saves the damzel in distress. There are a lot of scenes missing from my synapsis of The Expendables, but you get the picture, they kicked ass and save the girl, none died and everybody happy.
My conclusion of The Expendables, a sweet, Kick Ass Movie that gets the body pumping with adrenaline. You will love it, because I sure did!
