Today we found some information on the upcoming Google Android Android 3.0 which will be codenamed the “Gingerbread”. Thanks to the guys over at Phandroid, an Android blog, they have posted details on the upcoming smartphone OS.
The rumours of video calling coming to the Google-backed open source OS looks likely to be true. It is being said that the new Android 3.0 Gingerbread will feature and improved UI, most of the graphics-related changes mentioned by the source are relatively minor, but Android fans will be pleased to know that the notification bar has been reworked, icons will appear more uniform, scroll effects (similar to iOS’ bounce) have been added, and there’s gonna be more green – a whole lot more green.
Most Android lovers will also appreciate the new VoIP which comes on the Google Voice app. It may not come on the new Smartphones running the OS, Instead it may be coming in an early update. However it may not be a Gingerbread Exclusive.
An announcement of Gingerbread’s arrival was due before the end of the year, but this could now come in early 2011.
