In my opinion Zynga is really behind time with the release of its most popular game on Facebook to the iPhone and iPad Platform. I was expecting it to be launch atleast at the beginning of 2010, well it is here now and as they say, “there is no time like the present”. Farmville addicts can now harvest crops, visit friend’s farms and plant crops directly from their iPhone or iPad.
The announcement was made at this year’s World Wide Developer’s Conference (WWDC 2010) which was held in San Francisco. Mark Pincus, founder of Zynga came and made his speech on the Farmville for iPhone Game App right after Steve Jobs made his keynote, Pinus stated that the game will be essentially the same on the iPhone and should be available by June 19th, which is also the year one anniversary of the Farmville for Facebook Edition.
The difference is that FarmVille on the iPhone may be able to keep players engaged even better than the Facebook version, coming with with push notifications about crops — a new way to constantly ping users and get them re-engaged. Zynga will be paying the same 30 percent cut to Apple that Facebook plans to take with its Credits virtual currency, without complaint. Steve Jobs also noted in his keynote that the Apple App Store has so far made $1 billion so far for developer from approximately five billion downloads.
Whats your take on the Farmville for iPhone and iPad Platform? Let me hear your say below in the comment section. Tips of my hat, wag of my finger to the guys over at Gdgt for such an awesome WWDC Coverage.
