The animated 3D movie starts out when it has been revealed that the Great Pyramid of Giza in Eqypt has been stolen and replaced with a same size plush model.

The world’s former #1 Super-villian Gru who doesn’t want to be out-done tries to steal something of far greater importance “the Moon“. In order to pull off his grand scheme he plans to use three orphan girls who he pawns off from an Orphan Home for Girls, which he later found out that their innocent love is profoundly changing him.

The entire scheme came into place when he found out about the Pyramid Theft and his pride was badly wounded. After being denied a loan from the local Bank of Evil to build his Moon heist rocket, all because he didn’t have one essentially thing “the Shrink Ray” which would be necessary as he needed it to shrink the moon. Gru and his minions steal the shrink ray from a secret lab in East Asia, but Vector (the guy who stoled the Pyramid) promptly steals it from him as revenge for freezing his head.

This is where the Orphan Girls comes in to help him in his scheme to get back the shrink ray from Vector Highly Secured Home.

If you don’t like animated movies, you won’t regret you saw Despicable Me as it is guaranteed that Gru’s Army of Minions will have you laughing throughout the entire movie.

For the second time in the month of July, I am on another USairways flight and I am yet to get a chance to test their new onboard WiFi Inflight Internet.

Today July 30th, 2010 I had to be at the Charlotte Douglas International as early as 5am for my 8am flight back to my Home Sweet Home, Jamaica. Unfortunately I have not got the chance to blog today, so I was really hoping that this flight would have the new service available.

To use US airways onboard WiFi Inflight Internet, there is a small fee which I think is reasonable at $4 for an hour, however I haven’t gotten the chance for the airline to charge this service to either of the debit or credit cards in my Levi’s wallet.

As a dedicated blogger, I like to be always connected to the world wide web, so when I first heard that usairways have started offering inflight internet access, Instantly the decision to make usairways my official carrier on my trip to Charlotte for four weeks was made.

The Stewardess just handed me my complimentary drink with a napkin that has all the info on their inflight internet imprinted all over the it which is really taunting me right now. What I didn’t know thought, is that the service is only available on their A321 Aircrafts with the Wi-Fi symbol, Unfortunately I am on a A319 Airplane. Well the next time I flight usairways I will certainly look for the WiFi symbol when I book.

Its in Theaters and after seeing the trailer on Good Morning America, I just had to go see it. Out of all the movies reviewed by me, I must say the Sorcerer’s Apprentice was one of the most enjoyed, if I should compare, the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and How to Train a Dragon is vying for #1 in the “most enjoyed” so far.

I have been a fan of Action/Adventure Movies and this is a movie that comprises of Action, Science Fiction and Adventure, so if you like Action/Adventure Movies, then you will definitely like the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. After researching it came to my attention that the movie is loosely based on the Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment in Disney’s Fantasia, and was produced and directed by the same team that worked on another hit from Cage, the National Treasure (All Three), Yes three. Apparently there is another coming in 2011 called “National Treasure 3“, Walt Disney plans to start filming in Fall of 2010.

Yes! Back to the movie, the storyline of the movies is based on Nicholas Cage’s Character “Balthazar Blake” a sorcerer who has been in search of the the person who will inherit Merlin’s powers while fighting against the forces of evil, in particular his arch-nemesis, “Maxim Horvath” who is played by Alfred Molina. So after years of searching Balthazar Blake now lives in modern day Manhattan, where he finally found the person to inherit merlin’s power. This turns out to be “Dave Stutler” played by Jay Baruchel (You may have seen him in movies like Tropic Thunder, Knocked Up and She’s Out Of My League), a physics student at New York University and that’s where the action starts.

I really recommend that you go out and see it, that’s if you really like Fantasy Adventure Movies. It one of those movies that depicts Good over Evil, the way it should always be in real life, unfortunately it is not so.

My visit for four weeks to Charlotte, North Carolina has been a really fun experience, I participated in a game that I have seen in movies for years but have never tried. We went bowling at Strike City Bowling Alley in Charlotte. The place is a really cool hang-out spot, you can order a few beers while bowling at those pins, by the way I think that’s a really bad idea. I really wouldn’t want to be intoxicated while holding a ball that weighs a mere 16 pounds, if that heavy ball should fall it could break a toe or smash a nail even.

Other than being my careful self, I did rather well at a game I never played before. I got three (3) strikes (meaning I hit all 10 pins with one ball, for who never played before) and came in second, playing with three other contestants who have bowled more than once in their life. If I should take up this sport I think I would easily become Pro.

I know it has been heard in movies I have seen, but totally forgot about the bowling shoes. When we arrived at Strike City they fitted us with the right pair, I am an 11 and mine fitted really comfortable, however I think they looked like shoes worn in the early 80′s, see for yourself above.

The game is really great, that’s if you don’t mind rolling a heavy ball for a mere 50-65 feet without it going off the alley into the gutter. You probably been bowling before, so what are your thoughts on Bowling?

My daily ramblings has taken me to the City of Charlotte located in the State of North Carolina. It can be found in the Mecklenburg County and the city happens to be the largest city in the U.S. state of North Carolina. According to Wikipedia, Charlotte’s 2010 population is estimated to be 756,912 and claims to be the 18th largest city in the United States.

Since I got here, I have been toured around the city four times, and during these tours, it also came to me that Charlotte is also known as the Queen City, Charlotte and the county containing it are named in honor of the German Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg, who had become queen consort of British King George III the year before the city’s founding.

Not much Jamaicans are here, when compared to Florida however, there is a Golden Krust Jamaican Bakery here and there are some things of my interest such as the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I have always been somewhat obsessed with NASCAR racing since I was a child, the obsession isn’t as strong as when I was younger but I still got some interest in the sport.

I have to give this City the tag “Green City”, no other city I have visited in the United States has so much trees. The airport is also the biggest I have seen ever, as I am on the topic of Airports, this also happens to be the State the “Wright Brothers” piloted the first powered airplane 20 feet above the ground, first flight in History.

Have you ever been to Charlotte? If Yes, What do you think about the city?

If you already seen all the episodes of the “Avatar”, then don’t go see the movie “The last Airbender” because the movie is basically Book 1 only, after the Avatar finalizes his Water Bending training in the Northern Water Tribe.

The creators of the movie got in some really cool effects and I really liked that. I know it would have been a really great experience if I had seen it in 3D, unfortunately the AMC Theater Pavilion 22 in Charlotte didn’t have it in 3D and that really sucked.

They didn’t make Sokka as ackward as he is in the cartoon, The Last Airbender was made for $150 million and marketed with a budget of $130 million, making total costs at least $280 million. They took $150 Million and made half of a movie, they shouldn’t have called it the Last Airbender without indicating that it was just a remake of the first season.

Its a good remake of season one, not a remake of the movie. Paramount Pictures’ MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies I want back half of the money I paid to see the movie.

Critics are saying its delivers a much better 3D experience than Avatar, so I had to go see it. A lot of peers who saw the Avatar in 3D were saying that it was a great 3D movie and indeed it was because, according to BoxOfficerMojo.com, the movie pulled a whopping $50.3 million, breaking the record for biggest fourth weekend gross previously held by Titanic’s $28.7 million.

When I heard reviews on the internet saying “How to train your Dragon 3D” is a better 3D experience I had to go see it. As a lover of animated films I was really looking forward to the start of the movie, I just have to say to Palace Multiplex in Montego Bay, Jamaica. “What the hell is wrong with you guys, I come to your theater to watch a movie, not to see 30 minutes worth of advertisements! God!!!”.

The movie started with a short clip which really showcased what 3D is really like, the audience was astonished with some ooohhhs and ahhhs coming from all around. The entire movie is based on the 2003 book of the same title, I didn’t know that until I did some research online, the main character in the movies is a young Viking teenager named “Hiccup” who aspires to follow his tribe’s tradition of becoming a dragon slayer. After finally capturing his first dragon, and with his chance at finally gaining the tribe’s acceptance, he finds that he no longer has the desire to kill it and instead befriends it.

Hiccup is always being laughed at because of his size, knowing that Vikings are usually of a immense built body. Hiccup happens to be the son of the Chief, Stoick the Vast, on the island of Berk. Hiccup’s village is beset by dragons which keep raiding their stock of sheep. He knows he is not strong enough to battle dragons so he makes up for that with his inventions, one of which he used to capture his first dragon which he later named Toothless. Toothless is one of the rarest dragon called a Night Fury with a bolas cannon, no Viking has ever seen one, all they know is that it is the fastest Dragon and no one has ever seen one and lived to tell.

After capturing Toothless, Hiccup realized he didn’t have the guts to kill the dragon so he released him, they later became friends and Hiccup became the first viking to fly on a dragon. For full details on the Movie, follow this link to Wikipedia.

My Conclusion
How to Train Your Dragon in 3D, definitely offers a much better 3D experience than Avatar. I don’t regret the ten dollars I spent to see the movie. Dreamworks really did their utmost best on the 3D effects, is there a part 2 coming soon?

Avatar, the big 3D hit of 2009, has gone on pre-order meaning you can count down the days before its release and be safe in the knowledge that you’ll have a copy winging its way to you.

The movie is now available on both Blu-ray and DVD with the 3D version coming in autumn, it will officially go on sale to the masses on 26 April 2010. There are a few different packages you can opt for, which are made up of the usual film-associated bumph, with the pick being the Avatar: Limited Edition Steelbook Combi pack with 4 lenticular artcards and the activist survival guide to Pandora.

However, those of you who watched it at the cinema – and were wowed by the special 3D effects – might not be able to bring yourselves to watch on standard Blu-ray, this being the case you’ll have to be patient as the full 3D version won’t be out until the autumn according to James Cameron.

Previous Review
Being my first 3D movie experience, I must admit that in the first segment of the movie I did dodge a few projectile which seemed to be coming directly to my face, afterward I had a good laugh. The movie has a really unique storyline which includes Love, Hatred, Greed and Betrayal. James Cameron, the film director who pushed technical effects to the limit with the blockbuster Titanic in 1997, and ushered in the dawn of action films with ’80s classics such as Terminator and Aliens, has unleashed the film he has been hoping to make for nearly 20 years. The storyline follows the future battle between Earth and alien moon Pandora, a ‘terrifyingly beautiful’ world full of strange creatures and rich minerals. Read the full Review Now!

Since the start of 2010, I have been venturing into some unfamiliar industries to maximize my monthly income. One of them is Forex Trading, I have been meaning to give it a try for a few years now. I first learnt about Forex Trading for approximately 3 years now, Foreign Exchange or just FX are just some of the terms used to describe the trading of the world’s many currencies. What I have learned so far is that the Forex Market is the largest market in the world, with trades amounting to more than USD 3 trillion everyday.

The currency trade is the simultaneous buying of one currency and selling of another one. The currency combination used in the trade is called a cross (for example, the euro/US dollar, or the GB pound/Japanese yen.). The most commonly traded currencies are the so-called “majors” – EURUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF and GBPUSD. The most important Forex market is the spot market as it has the largest volume, it is called the spot market because of how trades are settled, which is immediately or “on the spot” in other words.

Unlike trading on the stock market, the Forex market is not conducted by a central exchange, but on the “interbank” market, which is thought of as an OTC (over the counter) market. The beauty of the FX Market is that there is no scheduled time to do it as it is a 24 hr market, The Forex market is so liquid that there are always buyers and sellers to trade with. The liquidity of this market, especially that of the major currencies, helps ensure price stability and narrow spreads. I will keep you updated as time goes by and I learn more on the subject, I am getting as much experience as possible before I start Trading. Whatever I do, I do to win not loose.

Recently I had the chance to go see the notable Avatar Movie in 3D. It was my first time experiencing a 3D movie and I must say it was rather surprising. At first the 3D glasses felt weird as I am not used to wearing shades, so the first couple of minutes was sort of uncomfortable. Even thought I had on uncomfortable glasses I was really basking this movie.

The film focuses on Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, who is a former Marine who is confined to a wheelchair following a war on Earth. He is selected to take part in the Avatar program – where his mind will control a healthy body on a remote world – and sent to Pandora, a rainforest-covered moon with a mix of beautiful and terrifying creatures, known as the Na’vi. These are sentient, humanoid beings, considered primitive by humans – but this turns out to be a grave misjudgment once humans decide to savagely claim the world as their own. Meanwhile, Jake has to decide where his allegiances lie in a battle which will decide the fate of the two planets.

Avatar was filmed entirely in 3D, using two virtual cameras, which produces an effect that simulates human sight. Those who have seen the movie claim Avatar to be a visual success, portraying a primitive world, an environment rich in prehistoric -looking creatures and lush, jungle-like scenery. After doing abit more research online I also found out that the aliens were created with CGI technology and happens to be best ever created with CGI technology.

I really enjoyed this movie, If you didn’t get the chance to see it in theaters then go ahead and buy it on Blu-ray or DVD as soon as it becomes available, you can even experience it in 3D if you are will to invest in a 3D projector which cost a mere $600.

If you already saw the movie leave your views on it in our comment section below.
