Just made a brief visit to John Chow and found this really informative blog post that was done by a Guest Blogger name Ankur Khangaonkar. Basically in the post, he is saying that there’s no better time to start blogging even though we are going through a “Blogging recession.” According to the article, Twitter has killed blogging along with Facebook and new studies are there to show youngsters are more interested in tweeting and status updates than writing a blog post.

Even though the two social networking portal has hypothetically killed blogging, he gave 5 strong reasons why its the best time to blog and I completely agree with the writer. The main one from the five reasons that really made a point to me was number two, which stated that “less bloggers equals less competition“. Check out the excerpt from the article and when you’re done reading remember to go an read the article as well.

“2 – Less Competition

Less bloggers equals less competition. Often in niches like tech reviews people are loyal. They trust a certain blog to give them honest reviews. So if you have less number of competitors in your niche, it becomes easier for you to become the number one in your space. Gaining an authority in a niche is a lot easier. Also the value of your services is more.”

In My Opinion, none of us bloggers should give up on this if you really have the passion for sharing with your readers. I had so much doing that my blog went stagnant for a little bit but i’m back. Have you guys seen the new Facebook Timeline that was just released, to me it looks really similar to MySpace. Now my question; “Is Facebook copying MySpace?“

If this delivers what the people behind this new website is offering, then it will be the number and best way to monitize your blog hands down. The website called Web Traffic Control promises blog owners a change to make up to $750 per month without doing anytime but accepting guest posts. There is a catch though, all young blogs will be lefted behind, two of the requirements is that your blog must be over 1 year old and it must have a minimum pagerank of 2 from Google.

How will I get Paid?
When it comes to how much you can make with Web Traffic Control it is pretty straight forward as they have detailed it pretty well on the website. Web Traffic Control will pay the blogger $15 for each guest post submitted with the possibility to get up to 50 guest post per month thus enabling the blogger to make an easy $750 which is easy considering you will not be writing any articles plus you would never make this much from Google Adsense unless you have some pretty awesome traffic coming in.

The site is basically in its start up mode (beta) and its looking for 1000 bloggers to start off, over 300 has already signed up so try and be in the remaining 600+ as afterward there will be a charge of $50 for you to become a member of the Guest Post Network.

The guys over at Automatic has just announced their 14th release of the WordPress Content Management System and Blogging Software, they are calling this release “Reinhardt” in the honor of known jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. It is already available for download but if you already have WordPress running on your blog, then you can simply upgrade from your dashboard.

With the 3.1 release, WordPress is more of a CMS than ever before, well those are not my words but words of the guys over at Automatic. According to the release they have added new features such as a lightning fast redesigned linking workflow which makes it easy to link to your existing posts and pages, there is a new Admin Bar for easy access to the dashboard from your blog main view, a streamlined writing interface that hides many of the seldom-used panels and a refreshed blue admin scheme available for selection under your personal options. They are saying that, that’s not all there is also a new Network Admin and an overhaul of the import and export system, They haven’t added any video for the new version of the software as yet but expect it to be soon, hopefully before the end of this week.

A few days back Twitter officially announced the release of their Twitter Tweet Counter Button for the Web. Since then I had updated most of my blogs with the new Twitter Official Tweet Button, however after using it for approximately two weeks am missing the old Retweet Button from Tweetmeme.

Since I integrated the Tweet Button to my blogs I have encounter numerous issues with the button, I guess it is still in the Beta Version. I am facing issues such as Tweet is stucked at “0″ even though readers are retweeting and the worst thing I don’t like, it only tweets the URL of an article and not the title, like the Tweetmeme Retweet Button does.

You may be enjoying it but I am not. If you would like to Integrate the new Twitter Button to your Blog, then simply go to the Tweet Button Page to get the codes.

Mother earth seems to be throwing a fit on us this summer, no matter where you are in the world you will feel a bit of the heat. On my trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the first time I experienced what it feels like in a 105 degree weather, now am back in Jamaica its hot but not as humid as it was in the United States.

Now I just learned that there will be some changes in the weather tomorrow as earth is expected to be hit by a massive blast of Plasma also known as Coronal mass ejections.

The Massive CME will hit our atmosphere , flung asunder by that great CFL in the sky, which apparently spent much of yesterday throwing a giant, solar tantrum. Scientists are saying that human life will probably not be exterminated thanks to our atmosphere, but GPS and cellular reception could be a little finicky tomorrow.

The widely known non-profit nonprofit organization that began in 1844 as the Young Men’s Christian Association, a Bible study group in London, announced Friday that it will simply be called the Y in its marketing efforts.

There are presently nearly 3,000 YMCAs across the United States, they all will be renamed. The new brand strategy is the result of more than two years of analysis and research, YMCA of the USA officials said. The new logo of a simple multicolor “Y” “reflects the vibrancy and diversity of the organization, and a framework that focuses resources on three core areas: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility,”

The organization’s national resource office, YMCA of the USA, has already begun the transition to the new brand. YMCAs across the country are expected to transition fully within five years. Although it started as the Young Men’s Christian Association, the organization serves 21 million men, women and children, according to the organization’s website.

Matt recently made a post on WordPress.com which reveals a new feature the crew behind the blogging platform are working on. With this new feature, bloggers on WordPress.com will be able to phone their blog to make a post.

So far there is no word if the option will ever be available for self-hosted blogs like this one. Owners of a WordPress.Com account will be assigned a special number and code which they can call to make a post.

So now when you are on the road and something interesting happens to you, instead of trying to remember word for word later, why not just call up your blog and talk to your readers. With the new feature, WordPress account holders can now via the web, email, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, desktop clients, and now any telephone in the world. Of course when you post it can be pushed to Facebook, Twitter, and more using the Publicize feature.

To Activate, go to My Blogs tab, enable Post by Voice, and get a special number and code to call your blog.

What more could a Blogger ask for, especially if you are making some serious money from your Blog. After all it is free. What do you think about this new feature?

Google has announce the integration of Real-Time Stats to its Blogger free Blogging Service. The Blogger Stats can be found on the dashboard of each user account, it does basically the same thing an account with Google’s Analytics would do. It offers traffic info and source for individual posts all in Real-Time.

It also tracks popular search keywords that sends visitors to your blog, and breaks down your traffic by country of origin, as well as web browser and operating system your visitors are using. As I stated before it doesn’t basically the same as an Analytics account, although an Analytics account offer way more features but only updates every few hours.

Users who track their blog’s performance via Google Analytics (Google Analytics) should be aware that the data Blogger Stats provides may be different as it uses a different data collection mechanism. If you are a blogger using the Google Blogger Service then try it out by logging in, go into the Draft tab, and click on the new “Stats” tab. What are your views on this new feature?

Everyday we see how powerful Facebook has become over the pass years. Facebook will be encouraging UK users to vote in the General Election 2010 by asking them if they’re registered to do so. Anyone who logs into the social networking service on Saturday 10 April will be redirected to the government registration page if their answer is “no”.

The partnership with the UK Electoral Commission comes in an effort to stop the decline in UK general election turn outs that’s been taking place over the last 100 years. 80% of the voting population went to the ballot boxes in the 1950s whereas that number had fallen to just 61.4% by 2005.

Of particular significance is the poor turn out of the 18-24 age group, of whom just 37% cast their votes at the last time of asking. With 23 million UK users registered on Facebook, and many of them young, the hope is to see a big change in these figures come 6 May. All UK Voters must be registered by the 20th of April, if you are in the UK and haven’t been registered as yet you can do so at About My Vote.

If you are a UK Citizen and living overseas, if you were too young to register when you left the UK, you can still register as an overseas voter so long as your parent or guardian was registered to vote in the UK and you left the UK within the last 15 years.

It is just like any popular MMORPG Games out there including Evony, Travian and Tribal Wars. Although it is really similar to these games, Kingdoms of Camelot is only available on Facebook as an Application.

The game has the same routine play as any other of the mmorpg’s, you start a new city as a new player and build your way to be a supreme ruler of your kingdom. You attack other player’s cities and barbarian cities to plunder or take over. Just like Evony, you can join an alliance, take your friends co-ordinates and send them supplies just the same.

Once you have finished building your city, its time to start building your army. Follow the Tutorial and Use the Quests. They will lead you through many of the important aspects of the game, and reward you as you go. If you want to skip something proposed (like building a watch tower when you still have three days of protection left), you can always do quests from the list out of order.

The game starts off with your Town Center at level 1 and gives the option to build an Embassy, a Market, a Rally Point, Storehouse, Watch Towers and Cottages etc. If you are a player of Evony then you will know about the daily Amulet you receive as soon as you log on, in Camelot you receive Merlin’s Tokens which you use to trade for valuable resources to be used for building or battle.

My Conclusion
Kingdoms of Camelot is basically a clone of the other games out there, so if you are a fan of Evony, Travian or Tribal Wars it won’t take much time for you to catch on the game. I really like how they did the assignment of knights, instead of assigning a character like evony, it gives you people on Facebook who are players of the game to assign as Knights.
