Jason Ting, an iPhone app developer was really surprised to know that he earned almost $1,400 in one day with Apple’s new iAds Program after launching his free iPhone 4 App. Jason Ting’s App was developed for the new iPhone 4 and it turns the iPhone 4 LED flash into a an LED flashlight.
In an interview with Mashable, he stated that: “I have a feeling that people are still enjoying the novelty of iAds, so I’m not sure if the high CTR percentage will stay up. But since the eCPM is calculated from a combination of impressions and clicks, I think there will be a decent stream just from the users who use the app but don’t necessarily click the ad.”

According to the article I read, the app was downloaded 9000 times and generated approximately $1,372.20 with iAds. Basically iAds Advertisements are still new to iPhone Users so the high clickthrough rates may not last for a long time, as soon as the users get used to the advertisements. Probably it could be the interactivity which attracts the clicks, when an iAds Advertisement is clicked on, it fills the screen and once it is opened it can be explored interactively.
I surely wished I was a developer right now, What are your thoughts on this new revenue generator?
